Biography

The most rewarding aspect of my work experience remains the creativeness to see the “big picture” and designing applicable processes that engages the staff for successful outcomes.  Terry

Since growing up in a rural East Texas town (Naples); Terry developed his work skills and abilities.

...from chipping mortar off of bricks for a penny a piece.

...trimming the crape myrtle trees along Highway 67

...raising and lowering the U. S. flag every day at Pewitt Jr. High.

...pulling weeds by the roots in Mrs. Hummel's yard.

...volunteering as a fire fighter.

...scrubbing the bathroom tile with a tooth brush at Morris County National Bank.

...working at the Monitor newspaper in circulation and photography.

...the days at the Dairy Bar and Quik Chik (ran the business solo in '78).

...cleaning septic tanks with his Dad.

These were all during the ages of 12-17.

What a foundation for effective work ethics!

Career Statement: To engage companies in the successful pursuit and exceeding of their goals!

The Navy Journalist years brought even more achievements as Terry advanced from E-1 to E-6 in six years. Received several letters of recognition and commendation; along with the Navy Achievement Medal (2); and other awards for his service. He served with pride in the Persian Gulf deployment and the NATO fleet during it's North Atlantic European cruise.

His at-risk population work began in 2000 with case management and program manager for a Texarkana non profit. His skills included community partnerships, job ready skills, life skills and designing solutions towards self sufficiency.

His ministry years (1987-present) brought even more challenges and sharpening of his abilities as he brought leadership and messages of hope to hundreds of people.

Ask him about The Refuge years...from a dream to reality project that intersected more at-risk youth than any other center in the Texarkana region. The countless hours, money and labor of love to bring a quality and effective community center to the at-risk populations of College Hill, Texarkana, AR.
